Be sure to attach the sensors to two separate leaves on the same plant. Also, avoid using the larger white plastic mushroom clips on leaves, as these are designed specifically for mushrooms and won’t give reliable results on plant. Instead, please use the metal electrode clips or electrode pads.

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of the PlantWave app from the Play Store: PlantWave App
  2. Check that your phone is running Android 12 or newer and is compatible (see our Android Compatibility Guide).
  3. Open App and enable Location Permissions (Android requires location permission to connect via Bluetooth):
    • Enable Bluetooth and Location Services on your phone.
    • Go to Settings > Apps > PlantWave > Permissions > Location, then select "Allow while using the app."
    • Allow any settings upon App startup
  4. Connect your device in the PlantWave App
    • Open the PlantWave app and tap "Connect."
    • Select "CONNECT PLANTWAVE"
    • Select the < arrow on the top left to go back to the Listening menu
    • Select the green radio button next to "PlantWave" when it appears
    • Ignore your phone’s Bluetooth pairing popup - simply cancel this popup.
    • Click the X in the top right corner to go back to the home screen
    • Once connected, you'll see "PlantWave" displayed at the top of the app's home screen.
  5. Enjoy the Music!
